Voter Registration
Now is a good time to register to vote or confirm your registration in Chatham County. Names periodically get removed from the voting list, including over 190,000 this year.
You must be registered by August 21, 2023 to vote in the Special Election for District 2 County Commissioner on September 19th (seat left vacant by the late Larry ‘Gator’ Rivers). District 2 includes much of the 31401 zip code and more; check the district map to confirm if this special election applies to you.
Be a Tourist: Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum

Located in the beautifully restored William Scarbrough House, this small but unique museum features mostly model ships that were significant in the history of Savannah. Across three floors there are maritime paintings, artifacts, and an interactive wheelhouse.
The home also has a tranquil garden (largest private garden in the historic district), offering respite from the busyness of MLK and downtown, that is free and open to the public seven days a week (with free wifi!) . Additionally, the museum hosts concerts (from metal to jazz at their outdoor pavilion) and interesting events throughout the year (bourbon tasting in September).
Admission is $15 for adults, $12.50 for children, students, and seniors. They also participate in Museums for All ($3 admission for those with EBT/SNAP benefits). Open Tuesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm.
