Casual Hangs
One of the great architectural gifts of Savannah (and the South) are our magnificent porches, and now is the season to really take advantage of them. Soak up the lovely weather before summer’s oppressive heat and humidity come along, and invite a few friends over for a low-key porch party. If you don’t have a porch, Forsyth Park can’t be beat on a weekend; just need a blanket to listen to Collin’s Quarter's live music from 3-6pm Friday-Sunday.
Be a Tourist: Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Just a short drive down Islands Expressway, Oatland offers a serene marsh sanctuary for wildlife, including wolves, bald eagles, goats, and cougars. Beautiful historic grounds with winding trails and educational sites throughout, it’s an easy way to surround yourself in nature.
This weekend the center is celebrating “wee folk” (aka children) by getting up close to our natural world during the annual Fairy & Gnome Festival. Take part in free and fundraising activities such as a scavenger hunt, gem mining, fairy and gnome home building, fashion show, and chalk art.
