Tips for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend
Because Common Sense and Murphy’s Law Don’t Always Mix Well
St. Patrick’s Day Tips
St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ weekend is here in Savannah, and there will be a lot of people celebrating. I have survived the shenanigans in past years, so I have a list of suggestions to guide you through.
Check on your neighbors. If you or they are having guests, communicate with them, so that neither of you are being caught off guard by unfamiliar faces and/or cars on your block.
Refrain from ordering items that would lead to porch deliveries this week so that you reduce the temptation of porch pirates.
Hide yo’ bike. Lock your doors. Use sunshades to hide the contents of your car. Property theft can be deterred easily by just being mindful.
Chat, are you cooked?! Create a special group chat for the people who are partying with and leave out the folks who don’t need updates.
Wear comfortable closed toed shoes. Flip flops are the devil on uneven sidewalks. This is not the time to break in new shoes.
Making a drinking plan. Alternate between an alcoholic beverage and a bottle of water. Take a disco nap. You can either drink early and be done by noon or start in the afternoon for the second shift of partying.
Keep your phone charger with you and have some essential phone numbers written down just in case.
Wear sunscreen.
Bring snacks (nuts, chips, protein bars)
Bring hand sanitizer, Liquid IV and tissue.
Have your license on you and don’t act snippy if the bartender asks for your ID. They are just doing their jobs.
The fines are real. The city of Savannah just posted the fines of the drinking violations.
Have a safe and fun weekend,
Nichelle
