Bring your outdoor plants inside if possible
Have propane gas tank filled
Cook perishable food and have plenty of non- perishable snacks
Have alcohol
Have a cooler with ice
Batteries charged
Phone charged
Have your backup chargers available
Find/buy a flashlight
Write down phone numbers that you need to have on a piece of paper.
Check on neighbors.
Make sure pets are good.
Host a Hurricane party.
If you do patronize a bar or restaurant, tip so well that is almost obscene
Read books to conserve electronics or if wifi is down.
Make sure your car is not parked under a tree.
Another tip would be to wash all your clothes and dishes, and do the vacuuming today in case power is lost tomorrow. Also stock up on charcoal in case you’ll need the barbecue grill to cook.
Breathe
Sleep
Evacuation
If you plan on evacuating, make a plan right away. Hotels can be booked up and traffic will be heavy with people driving up from Florida. Check to see if the hotel is pet-friendly. Let neighbors know you will be out of town, so they can check on your place after the storm.
